Over the summer holidays, I had the pleasure of working with St Saviour’s Primary School in Ellesmere Port to help bring their new Forest School project to life.
The school reached out to me looking for help creating a dedicated outdoor learning area where children could explore, learn, and enjoy the outdoors — but there was no formal plan in place. Instead, they gave me the freedom to design and build something special that would make the most of the space they had.
After a few days of planning and preparation, I came up with a design that I knew would suit their needs perfectly. The finished Forest School includes:
🌲 A fire pit area, providing a safe and functional spot for outdoor lessons and group activities.
🌞 Custom-made posts to support a sun sail shade, giving the children cover during sunny days.
🏫 Additional posts in the nursery area for more sails, ensuring even the youngest pupils can enjoy outdoor learning in comfort.
🚪 I also carried out installation work at the front of the school, improving the overall setup and helping tie everything together neatly.
This was a really enjoyable project to work on — from having the creative freedom to design the space, to seeing how excited the staff and pupils were with the final result. It’s always rewarding to deliver work that makes a difference, especially for a project that helps children connect with nature.
Safe to say, everyone was thrilled with how it turned out! 🌟
Another successful job completed for Chester and Cheshire West Council — and one I’m particularly proud of.
